Typically, unit owners are responsible for normal wear and tear inside of their unit. If, however, a unit owner believes that the damage has occurred due to a defect in construction, the association or builder may be liable to pay for the repairs. Some examples of structural defects include deficient roof support, drainage issues, or construction which is not building code compliant.
